Rochester Community House

Wine lovers, connoisseurs or novices, are invited to two wine tastings. Replicate the "Paris Wine Tasting of 1976" as you compare French wines to wines fromaround the world.

Colette Comeau, a Rochester resident, achieved "Certified Sommelier" status with the Court of Master Sommeliers in Kansas City. Colette works with Jean-Jacques Fertal at Eagle Eye imports.

The Nose Knows

Using a French system for training sommeliers and perfume makers, we will enjoy wines from around the world and try to pick out the characteristics that make the aromas stand out. How does Chardonnay smell like apples and buttered popcorn? Who can pick out the citrus aromas of Sauvignon Blanc? What is the one trick for picking out Cabernet Sauvignon out of a blind tasting? Come and put your nose to the test.
