Beginning Hatha Yoga Jenna Aviva Lee, RYT, is an experienced Yoga teacher with an M.A. in Sanskrit. She is also certified in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. Yoga teaches balance of the mind and body through physical exercise (asanas), controlled breathing and calming of the mind through relaxation and meditation. Gentle stretches, breathing and centering exercises are designed to increase joint flexibility, improve muscle tone and strength, and relax the whole body/mind. No previous yoga experience necessary. Wear loose clothing. Bring a mat and small blanket. Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. SPRING SESSION

June 16 Continuing Hatha Yoga - Level I Jenna Lee Ready for a challenge? An increase in upper body work, twisting and back-bending takes this class to the next level. Core strength is enhanced helping to relieve pressure on joints. Flexibility and balance improve; relaxation deepens. Previous yoga experience recommended. Designed for the experienced student who wants to go deeper into flexibility, strength and pranayama/meditation.

Enteriing into a regular practice of meditation brings out the best in all parts of our being. It calms and focuses the mind; relaxes and heals the body; sends positive energy through a peaceful and compassionate heart; opens the mind to a larger spiritual connection. Learn simple techniques for all of the above in this 4-week class. Bring something for the shoulders as body temperature will lower. Chairs will be provided. If you prefer the floor, bring your own cushion.

24 Jenna Aviva Lee is a Shamballa Master (Shamballa Multi-Dimensional Healing System) and Reiki master (Usui/Takata Reiki). Learn to help yourself heal ... physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually by awakening your inner healer. In this Level I Shamballa Reiki class, you will learn: the history of Reiki; basic energy flow patterns; how to relieve pain; self-healing techniques; and basic hand positions for healing. Upon successful completion of this class, a level I Shamballa certificate will be issued.

April 26 Linda Bowers, RYT, has completed the Practicum in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Bring yoga mat or large towel for an evening of very gentle Mindful yoga. Learn how reconnecting with your body can be an antidote to your anxious mind. Appropriate for everyone, even those who have never done yoga or may have physical challenges.

March 9 John Marchewitz is an instructor from the Michigan Wu Style Tai Chi Institute. He also trained at the Kung Fu Academy in Hong Kong. Beginning Tai Chi Tai Chi Ch'uan is a "soft-style" Chinese martial art. Its slow, repetitive movements open internal circulation and improve strength, agility and balance. Through this moving meditation, one learns both coordination and relaxation. The 108 forms move every muscle of the body through a complete, natural, range of motion. Over time, see reduction of stress and increase of natural energy.

A separate class, at the same time as beginners, continues the beginning program until all 108 forms of the Wu style of Tai Chi Ch'uan have been completed.
