Rochester Community House is proud to be a founder and participant in The Charlie Sanders Scholarship Foundation, which began right here in August, 2007, when the Rochester Hills/Rochester area held "Charlie Sanders Appreciation Day" at Rochester Community House. Proceeds from the event were used to start the scholarship fund.

This Foundation is one of the ways former Detroit Lion and NFL Hall of Fame inductee Charlie Sanders has chosen to give back to the community. Scholarships have already been given to students from high schools in the Rochester area, and the Foundation has now expanded to Monroe County, Michigan and North Carolina, Charlie's home state.

Charlie and his wife Georgianna are long-time residents of Rochester Hills, and have raised nine children.
